A Chartered Management Accountant who founded the company in 1982. Stephen is committed to the continuous improvement, development and marketing of the training events. His approach is extremely practical and he is keen to ensure that UKTraining continue to deliver high quality low cost training to its customers.

He presents financial training courses at public venues, live online and in-house for clients.


Having qualified with an international practice, Bill has spent more than 30 years in technical and training roles within the accountancy profession. He has been involved in ICAEW at a senior level for many years. He has also assisted practices with audit compliance and other technical issues.

He is well known as an entertaining and authoritative lecturer, able to make auditing and financial reporting practical, interesting and relevant to organisations of all sizes.

His specialist subjects are auditing and financial reporting - both UK GAAP and IFRS - and he also lectures on company law, money laundering, ethics and related subjects.

Joanne is the Partner at Hillyer McKeown heading up their commercial team which helps a wide range of companies deal with intellectual property issues.  She adopts a practical approach which helps businesses avoid the pitfalls while at the same time maximising the return on the investment in intellectual property.  She helps people negotiate and prepare robust contracts and when it comes to disputes about intellectual property she is ready to resolve them.

John Spargo has over 30 years experience as a policy advisor on Customs and Excise Duties in the UK and Europe. His comprehensive track record includes ten years leading BP's Customs and Excise Duties compliance and advisory team in the UK, and ten years as a senior advisor for oils and alcohols excise duty policy with the former HM Customs and Excise.

John is a highly respected trade representative with over ten years advocacy experience in the European oil industry as former Chair of the Indirect Tax groups in the UK Oil Industry Taxation Committee (UKOITC) and the Brussels-based European Petroleum Industry Association (EUROPIA).


Kevin is a Chartered Accountant and he has his own accountancy practice.  With his vast knowledge and experience he can readily help people resolve Payroll, Accounting, VAT and Company Administration issues.

He delivers Financial, VAT and Company Law courses at public venues and live online. He also delivers in-house training programmes for clients.

Mary is a tax director at Mazars LLP and she has over 20 years experience of providing companies with tax advice.  She specialises in helping companies maximise their tax savings from R&D Credit Relief and now Patent Box.

Paul is an accomplished and highly-qualified training professional with a successful background in learning and development, 15 years management experience and a strong interest in government, the law and business.

Paul has, over the years, designed, developed and delivered comprehensive Business and Management Skills programmes that have included the following topics: Employment Law, Data Protection, Project Management, Corporate Social Responsibility and a variety of essential management skills. He has also offered invaluable support and advice to many people setting up their own business.

He presents employment law seminars at public venues and for in-house clients.


Peter has spent over 40 years dealing with VAT issues and is a Director of Fiscal Solutions.  He manages a team of 20 VAT specialists who help hundreds of clients process complex VAT transactions and complete VAT returns for all of the 28 EU countries as well as Norway and Switzerland.

His earlier career was spent as a Senior VAT Inspector.

Peter is an expert in company compliance issues who has advised the boards of some of the largest companies in the UK. He is an authoritative speaker on many issues that affect companies and their directors. He has been able to help organisations of many different shapes and sizes.          
Richard is a specialist in the R&D tax relief Scheme. Using his vast experience he is able to help organisations of all shapes and sizes  make accurate and successful claims for R&D tax relief.

Robin is a Director of VAT at Mazars LLP.  He was a VAT inspector with HM Customs & Excise before becoming a VAT Consultant.  He has significant experience in dealing with HMRC and negotiating on behalf of clients in order to obtain rulings that have significantly reduced disputed VAT and duty liabilities.

Robin has helped many global organisations and major UK based businesses deal with complex VAT issues as well as helping family owned companies and professional services firms comply with the VAT rules and regulations.

He delivers Coping with VAT Visits and Investigations.


Roger is a qualified accountant and Company Secretary. He has held several senior positions and for twenty years was a Company Secretary and Financial Director. His approach is practical and based on vast experience. He is also the author of several books.

He is the author of Company Law: The Authoritative Guide for Directors and Secretaries which is a comprehensive book covering all aspects of Company Law.  This book is given free to all people who attend The Role of a Company Secretary in the 21st Century or Company Law - A Company Director's Survival Guide. 

He delivers training for company directors and company secretaries at public venues and live online. He also delivers in-house training programmes for clients.


Ruth is Chair of the VAT Practitioners Group National Technical Committee and a member of the Joint VAT Consultative Committee, both of which mean that Ruth communicates with HM Revenue and Customs at a high level.

Ruth has over 20 years of experience of VAT. She gained her experience with HM Revenue and Customs, large global accountancy firms and also the mid-tier firms. Throughout this time there has been a significant exposure to the VAT issues facing many businesses and not-for-profit organisations.


Stephen is a VAT Specialist at Fiscal Solutions. He is responsible for the preparation and processing of VAT returns, Intrastat reporting, EC Sales Lists and the submission of VAT claims in various EU Countries.

Stephen liaises with various tax authorities across the EU.
